How it works
Before Tutoring Starts
This is a dedicated maths tutoring service, there is just one tutor and, in most cases, tutoring is a one-on-one basis.
Initial Consultation: A no-cost, no-obligation session will be arranged where you will be able to meet me and I will be able to understand the needs of the student.
Customised Plan: A student specific plan that may, where appropriate, follow the Scheme of Learning from the students school.
Active Coaching: A series of tutoring sessions using directed instruction.
Progress Review: To confirm that appropriate progress is being made.
Important Note
As an experienced teacher who repeatedly guided students to success, I know that one of the most important things I need to do is see what students are doing: When we receive immediate feedback on an error we are much less likely to repeat that error in future.
For this reason, face-to-face lessons usually achieve the best outcomes.
Delivery options
Tutoring can be done face-to-face at my facility or at the students home. Online services are also available.
We provide services in southern Derbyshire and the surrounding areas, including Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Measham, Swadlincote, Burton-on-Trent and Tamworth. We have provided services outside of these areas in the past, please contact us for more information.
